Pine Crest is a private, nonprofit learning institution in Boca Raton, Florida, offering a Pre-K through 8th grade college preparatory curriculum. With 845 students, the campus has a library/media center, fine arts and music classrooms, auditorium, and computer labs for students at every level.

The new 10,000-sq. ft. John K. Varhol Center for Science and Technology houses four laboratory classrooms, fully equipped with top quality equipment and furnishings to serve the needs of middle school students. Among the innovations incorporated in this state-of-the-art facility are a completely wireless, networked computer system in the Technology Resource Center and Hamilton's new Eclipse Science Table System in the Resource Center, Earth Science and Physical Science labs.

Built to accommodate four students each, Eclipse Science Tables offer rugged construction, 500-lb. load-bearing capacity, and a durable, scratch-resistant work surface to ensure years of service. The tables can easily be re-arranged from hour to hour depending on the activities being planned and the work surfaces can be electrically raised and lowered to various heights. (from 30 to 38 inches). The table can also be combined with a streamlined Eclipse Service Hub equipped with an epoxy resin sink. Pine Crest utilized a crisp green, white and wood-tone color scheme throughout to provide a serene, harmonious learning environment.

The Technology Resource Room, a fully equipped laboratory classroom that doubles as a computer technology center, has 24 wireless laptop computers on which students can complete assignments and link into the school's local area network. Workstations include six Eclipse Science Tables and teacher demonstration area. One lab has a SafeAire Pass-Thru demonstration fume hood with dual-sided design to provide a larger viewing area for demonstrations. Additional furnishings include an assortment of Hamilton wood base units, cabinets, wall cases, tall cases and shelves.

The innovative design of Pine Crest's Center for Science and Technology will deliver benefits to students and teachers now and into the future. And, according to Pine Crest's Headmaster, selecting Hamilton lab furnishings over an originally planned purchase, saved the school $125,000.
