Fox Chase Cancer Center is a world renowned leader in cancer research, treatment and prevention. The Center's Philadelphia campus consists of a hospital, outpatient clinic, and an all-new facility housing 16 laboratories where scientists and clinicians conduct research projects in a wide range of areas, including molecular biology, clinical protocols, and cancer genetics.

Fox Chase is a constantly changing environment where different projects have different lab requirements and individual scientists have specific workspace preferences. In designing the new labs, optimum flexibility was key. That's why Fox Chase selected Hamilton's MAX/Wall Technical Wall System. MAX/Wall provides a rugged, yet completely reconfigurable floor-to-ceiling framework that supports adjustable-height casework and other modular components. And, while each MAX/Wall unit occupies a space-saving 6-inch wide footprint, its interior service chase provides ample room to house lab service lines, including plumbing, vent, water and gas lines, as well as electrical and data wiring.

To furnish each of the 900-sq.-ft. labs with comfortable, adjustable-height workstations, storage shelves, and counter space for assorted lab equipment, Fox Chase installed Hamilton's Accent line of modular casework. The Accent line combines the rugged durability of steel cabinet construction with a wide choice of wood or plastic laminate door and drawer fronts in a range of colors. To complete the lab requirements, SafeAire Fume Hoods were also installed. Fox Chase Cancer Center reports that the scientists and clinicians using the labs have been pleased with the efficiency and modularity of the MAX/Wall and Accent "total system" approach.
